Trailblazers at Kaslo Saturday Market

YES, there will be a Trailblazers table at the Saturday Market this summer. We will be there from 10 am to 2 pm every Saturday next to the Kaslo Hotel.

This is the easiest way for many of you to pick up your membership or sponsor an engraved plaque for a bridge tread ($150) or post ($500). While you're in town, wander over to the end of 5th Street and take a look at the bridge construction!

Of course, someone has to be sitting on the other side of the table to register those memberships and accept those sponsorships. Help! We only need 2 hours of your time, and we can arrange for someone to keep you company if you're new to it.

The shifts are Saturdays from 10 am - 12 noon and 12 noon - 2 pm. Please reply to this email or let Chris know at 250-353-7709 if you can do the occasional shift.

We will get this bridge built! And paid for!

Another $6,000 raised for the Unity Bridge!

This past week has been another good fundraising week:

1) We raised $2,000 at May Days and are well over 150 members for 2015. Those post plaques for $500 are popular!

2) We received $2,000 from Kootenay Savings Community Foundation to help put the roof on the bridge. KSCF was a major sponsor of our first bridge, so we're pleased to have them be represented on this one too.

3) We also received $2,001 from the Community Fund of North Kootenay Lake. Combined with earlier contributions, this makes CFNKL a Platinum Sponsor and currently one of our top 5 cash contributors to the bridge.

We raised more than $6,000 last week!

Last week was a very good week for the Kaslo Trailblazers:

1. Our membership drive April 21-24 raised $2,130 and signed up more than 125 members. Thank you, Trailblazers! Another big thank you goes to our new membership chair, Chris Carroll, for organizing the event.

2. We received $3,942 in CBT Community Initiatives funding for the 5th Street Unity pedestrian bridge. This was voted on by Kaslo & Area D residents at a meeting on April 16, and it was the highest amount awarded on the ballot!
   
   Thank you to all who voted, it's great to see so much community support for the bridge. Hats off also to CBT for making the funding available, and Suzan Hewat for managing the meeting and allocations.

Membership Drive April 21-24 at KSCU

There will be a Membership table at Kootenay Saving Credit Union in Kaslo April 21 - 24, 10 am - 3 pm each day.

Memberships are:

• $10 for 1 year
• $45 for 5 years
• $90 for 10 years

Please drop by if you would like to get your membership, or even just catch up on the new bridge and what the Trailblazers are up to.  We are still fundraising for the bridge so this is a great time to purchase a 5 or 10 year membership if you can.
